Event Description
For walkers who would like an introduction or refresher in navigation with map and compass.
In this relaxed half day session Craig will introduce participants to using a map and compass in the easy terrain around Ripon Tor, Pil Tor and Top Tor.
The main learning outcomes will be simple map reading, taking & walking on easy bearings and being able to relate some map features to what we see on the ground.
- Terrain is hilly with tracks across open moorland.
- Maps and compasses will be provided.
- Participants will need to bring a packed lunch and a drink and be equipped for walking on Dartmoor in the summer.
