Climbers Self Rescue Skills 
​29th August 

For climbers who want to develop their skills and want that peace of mind when climbing multipitch routes. Think of it as a bit like a first aid course! Learning the basic self rescue skills is invaluable to keep you and your partner safe! You will learn how to avoid problems in the first place, as well as tools that you can use in different scenarios to self rescue you and your partner off a route.


Location: Hound Tor

Moorland Navigation Refresher Day 
2nd September 


The main learning outcomes will be reminding the participants how to take and walk on bearings, relating map features to what is seem on the ground understanding grid references, being able to relate map features to what we see on the ground and techniques to improve navigational strategies.

Introduction to Moorland Navigation
​29th August and 3rd September

This relaxed half day session starts over tea or coffee in the Tin Pickle & Rhum. Craig will introduce participants to various maps, map features, compass components, and mapping apps. After this we’ll move outdoors and practice skills in the Haytor/Black Hill area. The main learning outcomes will be simple map reading, taking & walking on easy bearings and being able to relate some map features to what we see on the ground.
